Woman, judiciary conf. warps up discussions

KUWAIT, March 3 (KUNA) — A major conference has recommended that women should be given more opportunities to hold judicial posts and ranks, offered equal opportunities just like men.
The two-day conference that concluded its discussions on Thursday was organized by the Kuwait Women Cultural and Social Society.
Participants stressed that it is a constitutional right for women to hold judiciary posts.
They noted that women are sharing men work in all fields of life and their energy should be invested for public interests.
In addition, the conference urged the Arab countries to join the international agreements and charters that support women’s rights, especially in the judiciary, calling for a cultural and media strategy to help change the stereotype image about women in the judiciary and to boost awareness on the issue.
The conference was attended by a multitude of men and women judges from several Arab countries. (end) amn.msa.msa
