US woman pleads guilty to terror charge

WASHINGTON, March 29 (KUNA) — An American woman from the state of Mississippi pleaded guilty on Tuesday to conspiring to provide material support to the so-called Islamic State, the Justice Department announced.
Jaelyn Delshaun Young, 20, attempted to travel to Syria to join the terrorist group but was apprehended by authorities in August at an airport in her home state where she was interviewed and confessed.
Her co-conspirator Muhammad Dakhlalla, 22, pleaded guilty to the same charge earlier this month. He was first noticed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) after being linked to IS associated Twitter accounts.
The maximum charge in the complaint carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and a fine of USD 250,000. (end) ak.ibi
