US official to discuss Iran, Russia in European tour

WASHINGTON, June 3 (KUNA) — US Treasury Department Acting Under-Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence will discuss Iran and Russia during visits to France and Germany on June 7 and 8.
During his visits, Adam J. Szubin will discuss implementation of the Iran deal as well as continued efforts to combat Tehran’s “support for terrorism and other destabilizing activity,” a Treasury Department statement said on Friday.
He will also underscore the importance of the international community working together to strengthen countering terrorist financing standards and information sharing.
His meetings will be held with senior government officials, including from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Finance, Interior, and Economics as well as members of the financial services community.
Discussions will also focus on the importance of maintaining sanctions pressure on Russia “until it fulfills the provisions of the Minsk Agreements.” (end) sd.rk
