UN Envoy for Yemen Arrives in Sana’a

Sana’a, United Nations Special Envoy for Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed arrived Sunday in Sana’a, in an effort to resume talks between the Yemeni parties.

Diplomatic sources said that the UN special Envoy is in Yemen for a several days visit.

UN envoy will meet during the visit, a delegation representing the Houthis and the ousted President Ali Abdullah Saleh to discuss the possibility of resuming the work of the appeasement committees set up under the agreement between the parties during the second consultation of Kuwait.

Ould Cheikh Ahmed on Monday met with Yemeni President Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi in Yemen’s provisional capital Aden, where they discussed means to resume peace talks.
