UK Stocks End Flat One Day after Record-Breaking Session

London, – FTSE 100 took a breather Thursday, one day after closing at an all-time high in a record-breaking session.

The index, which tracks the performance of the 100 most valuable stocks on the London Stock Exchange, was relatively flat, falling 0.01% to end at 7,382.35. ConvaTec Group was the biggest gainer in today’s session. It climbed 5.05% after the board said they would pay a dividend despite the loss they made last year. Capita PLC was the biggest loser, falling 9.12%. The company’s stocks are set to be delisted from the index.

Economic data saw UK construction activity expand modestly according to the IHS Markit/CIPS reading which came in at 52.5. The expansion was mainly contributed to by an increase in engineering work. Housing starts meanwhile expanded at the slowest rate in six months according to the report. (QNA)
