UAE participates in 10th Bali Democracy Forum in Indonesia.

On behalf of the UAE, Ahmed Abdul Rahman Al Jarman, Assistant Minister for Human Rights and International Law at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, is attending the 10th Bali Democracy Forum, BDF, which started today in Serpong, Indonesia.

The two-day forum will see the attendance of delegations from 58 countries, along with 68 countries as observers, as well as nine international organisations.

The forum will discuss the role of democracy in managing diversity and achieving security, equality and social justice. It will also aim to promote the exchange of knowledge among Asian and Pacific countries in developing democratic practices, as well as the role of democracy in achieving development and prosperity and encouraging dialogue and cooperation.

The UAE delegation comprises of Mohammed Abdullah bin Mutlaq Al Ghfeli, the Ambassador of the UAE to the Republic of Indonesia, and senior government officials.

The forum was attended by Muhammad Jusuf Kalla, Vice President of Indonesia, and Baron Waqa, President of Nauru, as well as several ministers from Indonesia and other Arab countries.
