UAE organises forum on international migration and development.

The UAE has stressed the importance of partnership and integration of government and the role of the private sector, which is a strategic partner in labour, in the mobility and employment process in the countries of destination and thus contribute to achieving the objectives of the Global Agreement on Secure and orderly migration.

This was stated during a panel discussion organized by the UAE in cooperation with the International Labour Organization, on the sidelines of the United Nations Intergovernmental Conference on Global Migration that ended on Wednesday in the Moroccan city of Marrakech.

Nasser bin Thani Al Hamli, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, hailed the wide participation in the discussions which were organized by the country out of its keenness to continue its efforts aimed at developing bilateral and multilateral partnerships, responsible dialogue between countries and regional cooperation in order to achieve optimal management of labour mobility between countries of origin and countries of destination.

In his keynote speech at the beginning of the discussion, Al Hamli said, “The past years have seen a remarkable development in the labour employment mobility management in the Asia-Pacific region. The Abu Dhabi Dialogue was launched as a consultative platform on labour mobility issues among the governments of the region. This has contributed to building confidence among the countries concerned.”

In this regard, he also spoke about other issues underway under the supervision of the ministry.
