UAE Foreign Minister meets with his Kosovan counterpart and the Chairman of the African Union Commission

WAM NEW YORK, 23rd September, 2013 (WAM) — H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Foreign Minister, arrived in New York yesterday leading the UAE delegation to the 68th session of the General Assembly of the United Nations.

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah last night met at his residence in New York, Kosovo’s Foreign Minister, Enver Hoxha.

The two sides discussed ways to further develop bilateral relations between the two countries in economic, trade, cultural and tourism fields.

Enver Hoxha expressed his country’s gratitude to Sheikh Abdullah on the recognition by the UAE of the state of Kosovo. He also briefed him on the latest developments on the issue of Kosovo’s independence and its relationship with Serbia.

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah wished renaissance and prosperity for Kosovo.

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah also met with Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, Chairman of the African Union Commission, and exchanged views on a number of political issues of mutual interest.

Dr. Dlamini briefed Sheikh Abdullah on the peacekeeping efforts of the African Union as well as the United Nations in a number of African countries, particularly in Egypt, Libya, Kenya, Niger and Mali.
