UAE Embassy oversees distribution of Ramdan food aid to thousands of Egyptian underprivileged families

WAM CAIRO, July 16th, 2013 (WAM)— Food UAE Embassy in Cairo has overseen the distribution of thousands of Ramadan food baskets to underprivileged Egyptian families.

The aid was donated by the Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation and the Red Crescent Authority (RCA).

Under directives from the UAE Ambassador, Mohamed Nakhira Al Dhaheri, the food baskets were procured from local markets and handed by the UAE Embassy to Al Nour Wal Amal Association, an Egyptian charity with branches in all Egyptian cities.

Next week, the Embassy will distribute a second batch of Ramadan food baskets in Cairo and other Egyptian cities.

It will also distribute donated clothes to more than one hundred thousand Egyptian children as part of the “Dress one million needy children” campaign which was launched recently by Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

The head of the Al Nour Wal Amal Association, Nadia Abaza, thanked the leadership of the UAE for the generous donations for Egyptians.
