ABU DHABI — Dr. Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Speaker of Federal National Council, FNC, stated that the UAE believes in the importance of international co-operation in confronting terrorist groups, and the necessity of raising international efforts and taking strict measures to combat terrorism through a clear, unified and efficient strategy while condemning its sources.
She added that the Islamic religion is based on tolerance and peace, and respects other religions and rejects violence and extremism. It also appreciates the diversity that enriches cultures and civilisations, she further added.
She made her statement while receiving Job Ndugai, Speaker of the Parliament of Tanzania, and his accompanying delegation, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the FNC in Abu Dhabi, in the presence Ahmed bin Shabib Al Dhaheri, FNC Secretary-General, and Mubarak Nasser Mubarak, Ambassador of Tanzania to the UAE.
Al Qubaisi discussed with the visiting delegation the measures taken by the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Egypt against Qatar, due to its continuing support for terrorist and extremist groups in several countries in the region. She also highlighted the dangers of financing terrorism and terrorist groups and providing a refugee to leaders and people who incite violence, extremism and terrorism.
