Two persons injured in Beirut blast

BEIRUT, June 12 (KUNA) — A bomb blew up in front of Bank Lubnan Wal-Mahjar in the Lebanese capital on Sunday and two persons were slightly injured in the powerful explosion that rocked the capital around sundown.
Interior Minister Nohad Al-Machnouk in televised remarks said the blast occurred outside the bank in the commercial Verdun region, adding that it was caused by explosives.
Meanwhile George Ketteneh, the head of the Lebanese Red Cross, said two persons were slightly wounded in the explosion, adding that it caused extensive damage in the region. (end) wsm.rk
