Two New Workshops in Qatar on Combating Human Trafficking

Doha, November 20 (QNA) – The seventh and eighth workshops of the Arab Initiative for building national capacities for combating human trafficking in the Arab States started here Tuesday with a number of international experts in the field participating. The workshop will last for three days.
Qatar Foundation on Combating Human Trafficking (QFCHT) along with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crimes based in the GCC are organizing the workshops.
 Abdallah Al-Mal, the QFCHT’s Board of Directors, said today that the foundation has managed to apply its first year plan that it set out with the help of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime. He added that one of the goals was to nourish leadership skills in the field of combatting human trafficking.
Al Mal noted that 2013 will see the launching of the third Doha Forum on Human Trafficking under the patronage of Wife of HH the Emir Sheikha Moza Bint Nasser. The forum will look to broaden its activities, including having other GCC countries be a host to some of the activities, in addition to the ones carried out in Qatar.
The Chairman called for more scientific-based work in the field of combating human trafficking in order to limit that phenomenon even further. He expressed his thanks and appreciation to the participants in the two workshops. (QNA)
