Turkish people flock to polls to choose Turkey’s 12th president

ERZURUM (CIHAN)- Turkish people have begun to cast their ballot across Turkey to elect the 12th president of the Republic of Turkey. This election is first of its kind which will elect a president with popular vote in Turkey’s history.

Like any other Turkish cities, people in eastern province of Erzurum went to ballot boots in the early hours. In Erzurum 487,220 voters are casting their ballots in 2125 balloting box.

A visually impaired citizen cast his ballot under the observation of the polling clerks. Erzurum Governor Ahmet AlnItpark cast his vote in Anadolu High School in Yakutiye District of the city.
