TRAISHA makes a winning return for Al Wasmiyah Stud Syndicate

Running for the first time in the colours of Al Wasmiyah Stud Syndicate, and also making her debut for trainer Joseph O’Brien, the 4-year-old filly TRAISHA (IRE) (Invincible Spirit x Dress Rehearsal) won on her seasonal bow at Killarney, Ireland, on Monday, 13 July, evening. Formerly trained in France in the colours of Ali Bin Hamad Al Attiya, for whom she won as a 2-year-old, she changed hands at the end of her 3-year-old year. Under jockey Declan McDonogh, she sat at the rear of the field in the early stages in this 8-runner race over 2,200 metres. A good pace was set by HAYYEL (Dark Angel) and TRAISHA began to make up ground in the home turn. Once in the straight, the rail opened up and TRAISHA ran on to chase stable companion MIGHTY BLUE (FR) (Authorized). These two pulled clear of the rest of the field, with TRAISHA gaining stride by stride to take the lead just before the line to win by a length. MIGHTY BLUE was the runner-up under Shane Crosse securing a one-two for the winning trainer Joseph Patrick O’Brien. LIGHTHOUSE LADY (IRE) (Helmet) was three lengths behind in third under Chris Hayes for trainer Edmond Kent.

TRAISHA is by leading sire INVINCIBLE SPIRIT and out of the GALILEO mare DRESS REHERSAL. She was bred by Mrs. B. Sangster and was bought as a yearling at the Tattersalls Yearling Sale. She is a sister to CLOUD NINE (Tapit), a multiple winner in Hong Kong, and her full sister, BABY PINK, is a Listed winner and is also trained by Joseph O’Brien.
