CHP asks if municipality official sacked in row over rally expensesMain opposition Republican Peopleand#39s Party (CHP) Istanbul deputy Mahmut Tanal has submitted a parliamentary question asking if a claim that an officer was removed from his post at the Erzurum Metropolitan Municipality for opposing presidential rally expenses to be paid by the municipal budget are true or not.A claim circulating Turkish media outlets says that TL 300,000 in expenses for a rally held for the presidential election campaign of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip ErdoIan in Erzurum province on July 6 were covered from the budget of the Erzurum Metropolitan Municipality.

The media reports also claim that Erzurum Metropolitan Municipalityand#39s Press and Public Relations Manager Talat Uzunyayla was removed from his post for refusing to approve the expenses of the rally from the municipal budget.
