Chet Faker set for Istanbul debut at Akbank Jazz FestivalAustralian electronica musician Chet Faker is the latest addition to the lineup of this yearandrsquos Akbank Jazz Festival in Istanbul.The 26-year-old musician, whose stage name is a tribute to American jazz trumpeter Chet Baker, is known for his unique vocals and songs that bear the influences of dubstep and soul.

Faker will play a set of his own songs in a live gig on Nov. 1 at the Babylon club, the organizers of the festival said in a press release on Tuesday.

Faker, whose real name is Nicholas James Murphy, won the award for Best Independent Release at the Rolling Stone Australia Awards in 2013 for his 2012 debut EP andldquoThinking in Textures.andrdquo His Istanbul concert will be part of his ongoing world tour in support of his 2014 debut studio album andldquoBuilt on Glass.

andrdquoOrganized by Istanbul-based concert promoter Pozitif Live, the Akbank Jazz Festival will mark its 24th edition from Oct. 23-Nov.
