The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Government of National Unity congratulates the new members of the Security Council

Tripoli, June 10, 2022 (LANA) – Today, Friday, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, “Najla Al-Manqoush”, congratulated the newly elected members of the United Nations Security Council.

Al-Manqoush wrote on her Twitter account, congratulating the five countries, “I wish them success in their mission to maintain peace and security and adhere to the principles of the United Nations Charter.”

Yesterday, Thursday, the United Nations General Assembly, at the headquarters of the international organization in New York, voted in favor of electing five non-permanent members of the UN Security Council for the period 2023-2024, namely Switzerland, Malta, Mozambique, Japan and Ecuador.

It is scheduled that these countries occupy their membership seats in the Security Council as of the beginning of the year 2023.
