Speaker praises government’s efforts to release Bahraini citizens detained in Qatar

Manama, Representatives Council Speaker, Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal, praised the strenuous efforts made by the esteemed government, represented by the Interior and Foreign Ministries, in following up on the release of the three Bahraini citizens who were detained in Qatar and facilitate their return to the Kingdom of Bahrain.

 

The Representatives Council Speaker commended the royal directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the unrelenting follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in considering the protection of citizens and their interests and rights as a top national priority.

 

Zainal congratulated the Bahraini citizens and their families on the return to the homeland, demanding the release of the Asian fishermen who were working on the Bahraini fishing boats due to their humanitarian conditions. She also called to release the 50 Bahraini boats confiscated by the Qatari authorities.

 

The Representatives Council Speaker called to complete tackling all issues related to the Bahraini fishermen and implement the GCC Summit’s communique so as to boost joint work between the GCC member states.
