The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed positive results from serious discussions to reach a road map supporting the peace process in Yemen.
The discussion was held from Sept. 14 to18 in Riyadh between the Saudi communication and coordination team and a delegation from Sanaa, with participation of the Sultanate of Oman.
These discussions come as a continuation of the meetings that the Saudi team held with the head and members of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) in Sanaa in April, during which many ideas and options were reached to develop a road map agreed upon by all Yemeni parties.
The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs also commended the contents of the meeting between Saudi Minister of Defense Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz with the Sanaa delegation that visited Riyadh. In the meeting, it was emphasized that the Kingdom will continue to stand with Yemen and its people, and its constant keenness to encourage the Yemeni parties to sit at the dialogue table, in order to reach a comprehensive and lasting political solution in Yemen under the supervision of the United Nations, and to move Yemen to a comprehensive renaissance and sustainable development for the Yemeni people, in a climate of political stability and lasting security, which integrated with the developmental renaissance of the Gulf system.
Saudi Arabia had recently announced that it had invited a delegation from Sanaa to visit Riyadh to complete the discussions and meetings aimed at reaching a sustainable and acceptable political solution by all Yemeni parties under the sponsorship of the Kingdom and the Sultanate of Oman, noting that this invitation comes as a continuation of the efforts of the two countries to reach a permanent and comprehensive ceasefire in Yemen.
