Russian pullout from Syria could reduce migration flow to Europe – Juncker

BRUSSELS, March 17 (KUNA) — The President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker welcomed Thursday the Russian announcement to pull out troops from Syria.
“I welcome the initiative taken by Russian leadership to withdraw from Syria. It could be that this could easily reduce the number of refugees willing to come to Europe, but its’ too early to say,” he told a joint press conference with European Parliament President Martin Schulz ahead of an EU summit on migration.
On his part, Schulz said “all measures contributing to a success in Geneva (talks on Syria) are highly welcome.” (end) nk.hs
