Ruler of Sharjah holds dinner banquet in honour of Arab, international publishing houses in Frankfurt

WAM FRANKFURT, 9th October, 2013 (WAM)–H. H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, held a banquet dinner on Tuesday in honour in honour of Arab and international publishing houses at the sidelines on Frankfurt Book Fair.

The event was attended by Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qassimi, Chairperson of the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq). and Juma Mubarak Al Junaibi, the UAE Ambassador to Germany.

During the banquet, Sheikh Sultan exchanged the cordial talks with the audience on publishing and ways to develop in interest of all publishing houses worldwide. He also talked about the historical manuscripts and documents, being the main sources of research. Sheikh Sultan shed light on his personal maps, documents and historic books about the Gulf region.

Among others present were Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Owais, Chairman of the Department of Culture and Information, Dr Omro Abdul Hamid, Adviser to the Ruler of Sharjah for Higher Education Affairs, Abdul Aziz Taryam, Adviser to Etisalat CEO in northern emirates, Mohammed Obaid Al Za’abi, Director General of the Department of Protocol and Hospitality, Ahmed bin Rakad Al Ameri, Director of the Sharjah International Book Fair, Jamal Al Shehhi, Chairman of the UAE Publishers Association, a number of directors of international book fairs and representatives of Arab and international book fairs.
