The activities of the workshop on “Twinning with International Technical Committees” began on Tuesday. It is organized by Qatar General Organization for Standards and Metrology (QS), in cooperation with the Standardization Organization for the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gul, as part of its training plan for the year 2023.
The three-day workshop is attended by the heads of the Gulf Technical Committees for Standards, the secretaries of the Gulf Technical Committees for Standards, representatives of the member states in the Gulf Technical Committees for Standards, the national technical committees for standards in the standardization bodies of the Member States, representatives of the Arab Industrial Development and Mining Organization, in addition to representatives of the Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries (SMIIC).
The workshop, in which a group of experts will give lectures, aims to strengthen the infrastructure aimed at unifying standards and capabilities of the twin partner, increasing its participation in the governance and technical work of the entity to be twinned with, promoting the exchange of experiences among members, the optimal use of resources through cooperation, and developing long-term strategic partnerships.
