QIB Expands its Branch at Doha Festival City

Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) has announced the expansion of its branch at Doha Festival City as part of the bank’s strategy to provide a seamless banking experience across all the channels by merging the offline and online experience.

QIB opened its branch at Doha Festival City in 2017 as part of its 22 wide branch network, offering a suite of personal products and services 7 days a week with extended working hours until 9:00 pm. The branch is supported by two ATMs for Cash Withdrawal, Cash Deposit, and Cheque Deposit available 24/7.

Driven by the increase in footfall to QIB branches after easing the precautionary procedures, QIB focused on blending its Instant Mobile App features with its branch operations. Customers visiting QIB branches can apply for Instant Finance and Instant Credit from the branch and complete the journey on the award-wining QIB Mobile App. While new to bank customer, can open an account through the digital onboarding service available on the App and pass by the nearest QIB branch to present the original documents and sign the agreement form to activate their banking account.

Realizing the customers’ changing behavior, QIB’s digital omni-channel approach managed to complement and enhance the branch experience with a clear objective to drive branch banking forward and create an effective, multichannel service for customers.

It’s clear for QIB that the banking industry is evolving to meet customer needs as more people than ever choose to manage their money digitally. Branches still remain an important part of the banking relationship for many customers, however, especially for application and advisory purposes. Therefore it’s important for the bank to fast-track the day to day operations through digitization to enable the branch employees to focus on serving the customers evolving and more complex needs.

Mr. D. Anand, QIB’s General Manager – Personal Banking Group said: “Although physical branches remain an essential part of QIB, the bank continues to invest in technology for a faster service, increased security and reduced branch administration. As our customers rely more and more on digital channels and expect a seamless integration of digital and physical capabilities, QIB remains digitally focused moving current capabilities online and providing a fusion of online and offline banking experiences to make the in-branch experience more useful and efficient.”

Anand added: “Customers continue to seek out in-person experiences to get advice across more sophisticated products and services. In this context, we are proud to expand our branch at Doha Festival City to continue to provide enhanced services to our customers”.

The expansion of the Doha Festival City branch incorporates the new design philosophy that QIB has been implementing across its branches, bringing a modern interpretation of the traditional Islamic values of purity, simplicity, and transparency.

Doha Festival City is strategically located in the north of Doha with direct access from Al Shamal and Lusail roads and is a highly accessible destination home to over 500 stores, ranging from day-to-day shopping to the most luxurious of high-end fashion.

QIB’s branch at Doha Festival City operates throughout the week, from Saturday to Thursday from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm, from 3:30 pm to 9:00 pm and from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Friday.
