DOHA: Al Gharafa, Al Markhiya, Al Arabi and Al Sailiya have qualified for the semi-finals of the QFA Cup.
Al Gharafa beat Muaither 4-1 in the match that took place at Suhaim bin Hamad Stadium.
Muaither opened the scoring through Jordan’s Youssef Rawashdeh in the 19th minute.
Al Gharafa managed to post a fightback and post a big victory thanks to Ivorian Jonathan Kodjia, who scored the equalizer in the 50th minute and then put Al Gharafa ahead with a second goal in the 67th minute.
Amr Siraj scored the third goal in the 82nd minute before Kodjia completed his hat-trick by scoring the fourth from a penalty kick in stoppage time.
Al Markhiya qualified for semifinals with a convincing 4-1 win against Mesaimeer in the meeting that brought the two teams together at Al-Sailiya Stadium.
The first half ended with Al Markhiya scoring two goals through Ahmed Al-Doni and Muhammad Salem Al-Qahtani.
In the second half, Al Markhiya scored the third goal through Lakrum. Karum finished the match completely by scoring his second goal and the fourth for his team.
Al Arabi also qualified for the semifinals by beating Umm Salal 3-0 while Al Sailiya reached the same round after overcoming Al Shamal with a 4-2 scoreline.
In the match that was held on Thursday evening at the Al Sailiya Club Stadium, Al Arabi defeated Umm Salal 3-0. Aaron Gunnarson (23), Youssef Al Masakeni (31) and Fahd Khalfan (83) were the goal-scorers.
Al Sailiya succeeded in achieving a 4-2 victory over Al Shamal at Suhaim Bin Hamad Stadium.
Brazilian Thiago Pizera (16 and 72), Abdelkader Elias (77) and Meshaal Al Shammari (90 + 4) scored for Al Sailiya.
Al Shamal’s Bahaa Faisal (57 and 90) also scored two goals.
The two semi-final matches will be held on May 2 when Al Gharafa meet Al Markhiya, and Al Arabi take on Al Sailiya on the same day.
