Qatar’s Permanent Representative in Geneva Meets Two UN Officials

Geneva, HE Permanent Representative of Qatar to the United Nations and international organizations in Geneva Ambassador Faisal bin Abdullah Al Henzab met today with Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva Michael Moller and with United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Prince Zeid bin Ra’ad Zeid al-Hussein after Al Henzab ended his term in office.

The first meeting discussed the strong cooperation between the UN and Qatar in maintaining global peace and stability as well as supporting development internationally and resolving crises peacefully. The scope of cooperation also expanded to protecting human rights and enhancing dialogue between different religions and cultures according to Moller.

Moller also praised the efforts of the State of Qatar’s contributions in international events and the country’s role to support the UN in humanitarian and developmental issues around the globe.

In the second meeting, Al Henzab praised the role of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights in leading UN efforts in human rights. His Excellency stressed Qatar’s commitment to enhancing cooperation with the commission to protect basic human rights worldwide.

For his part, Al-Hussein thanked the State of Qatar for hosting the United Nations Human Rights Training and Documentation Centre and expressed his appreciation to Qatar’s support to the activities of the commission.
