Doha- Qatar’s Ministry of Interior said today that it completed more than 71.5 million transactions in the whole of 2016.

The figure amounts to a monthly average of 5,963,781 and daily 198,793 transactions. The average number of transaction per hour was 8,283 with 138 transactions every minute. The number of electronic services was 47,948,796 which amounts 67% of entire transactions and the number of transactions through the service centers were 23,616,571 that marked 33%. The figure reflects the progress the ministry has made in providing services electronically to the public. These advances by the Ministry are based on the concept of transforming to “a paperless ministry” whereas all sectors of the Ministry of Interior do their best to develop its services through constant scientific studies, researches and statistics.

The total number of calls came to (999) in 2016 was 3,389,606 which included service requests to traffic, injuries, illnesses, complaints, enquiries, fire reports and other personal services.

The number of visa services were 6,857,124, while residence related transactions reached 3,245,873. The figure of entry and exit through the ports reached 18,583,651. A total of 46,947 Police Clearance Certificate were issued in 2016 along with 56,265 building permits. Almost 90,694 vehicles were registered, 94,680 driving licenses were issued and 972,007 vehicle technical tests were registered in 2016.

As for Metrash Two, the total transactions through were 2,267,698. This represented an increase of 75.3% compared to 2015. The number of subscribers to Metrash2 app reached 303,527. As much as 96 services are now accessible through Metrash Two, by which the users can save their time and efforts to a great extent. (QNA)
