Qatar’s Embassy in Mexico Organizes Football Tournament

The Embassy of Qatar in Mexico announced on Sunday the organization of a football tournament under the name of “Football Cup Qatar-Mexico 2019” under the auspices of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC).

Speaking at a press conference, HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the United Mexican States Mohamed bin Jassim Al Kuwari said that the tournament aims to strengthen the friendship between Qatar and Mexico through sport, which Qatar attaches great importance to as a means of bringing together cultures and peoples.

HE Al Kuwari added that the tournament “Football Cup Qatar-Mexico 2019” is part of the sports activities to be organized by the Qatari embassy in preparation for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

HE the Ambassador pointed out that the tournament will see the participation of 10 teams representing the Embassy of Qatar and various ministries, institutions and universities of Mexico adding that the tournament starts on Feb 2 and ends on Feb 12 in conjunction with Qatar Sports Day. The tournament will be held at Aztec Stadium in Mexico City.

Political and artistic figures of Mexico attended the press conference where they viewed the presentation of models of stadiums that will host the 2022 World Cup, which dazzled the audience with their distinctive design.
