ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates, July 5 (NNN-WAM) – The Qatari response to the demands by Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain, and Egypt, will decide the course of action, in regards to the current situation in the region, said UAE Foreign Minister, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al-Nahayan.

During a press conference with German counterpart, Sigmar Gabriel, Al-Nahayan said, “We are still waiting for the response from our brothers in Kuwait, regarding the response that they received from Qatar, and once we examine it among ourselves, we will take the decision of course.”

On Monday, Qatar delivered a response to mediator, Kuwait.

The UAE’s Foreign Minister noted that, “in appreciation of the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the response (on the side of the four states) will be after contacts and coordination with (the Amir) and the Kuwaiti envoy, not through the media.”

On his part, the German Foreign Minister, Sigmar Gabriel, stressed the importance of forbearance and avoiding jumping to conclusions in the future, but in the meantime, he called for an end to “funding terrorism.” Gabriel said, the GCC states have an opportunity to enhance the war on terror.

The German minister is on a Gulf tour that saw him visit Saudi Arabia, Monday, then the UAE yesterday. He proceeded to Qatar later Tuesday and then to Kuwait today.

The tour aims to give a push to the efforts, to find a solution to the Gulf crisis through dialogue, according to a statement by the Foreign Ministry in Berlin.– NNN-WAM
