Qatari minister briefs Palestinian official on talks with US delegation

RAMALLAH, Qatari Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammad Abdul Rahman Al Thani, briefed Saeb Erekat, secretary general of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), on the outcome of talks between the Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and a US delegation headed by Jarod Kushner, senior advisor to US President Donald Trump and his son-in-law.

The deputy premier told Erekat that the Qatari Emir and his foreign minister stressed in two separate meetings with Kushner that a solution for the Palestinian-Israeli conflict requires an end to the Israeli occupation and the establishment of the independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital to live in peace and security alongside Israel based on international law, United Nations resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.

Erekat thanked the Qatari leaders and people for their support of the Palestinian people and cause.
