ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, Mar 8 – Qatari Emir, Sheikh Tamim Hamad Al-Thani said, his visit to Turkmenistan will further boost bilateral relations, especially as the two countries signed a number of cooperation agreements.

Al-Thani also thanked Turkmenistan’s President, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, for the invitation, as well as, for the warm welcome during the visit.

In a joint statement with Berdimuhamedow, following the talks, the Emir underlined the importance attached by both sides to promote relations, a matter which was highlighted in the talks that dealt with a range of issues of

common concern, particularly the current challenges and crises facing the world and how to deal with them.

The Emir pointed out that, the Foreign Ministers from both countries were mandated to head a joint committee for Qatar and Turkmenistan, with regards to bilateral relations.

The two sides also discuss cooperation in culture, arts and sports, and how the joint committee and working teams will coordinate in the different fields.

The Emir said, both countries enjoy ample natural resources, stressing the importance of mutual cooperation to make use of expertise and investment in this regard.

He also congratulated the Turkman president, on his country’s hosting of Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games 2017
