Qatar Wins the First Place in the Arabic Summit Award for Innovation

Qatar won the first place in two out of eight categories participating in the Arabic version of the World Summit Awards in Lebanon WSA2019.

The country won two gold medals in the Arab Summit Award. The inventor Mohammed Al Jufairi, founder of the Creativity Center, said on his official Twitter that Qatar won first place in two categories: Inclusiveness and Empowerment category, and Trade Class category.

Al Jufairi project “Sign Language Encyclopaedia” was awarded for the Inclusiveness and Empowerment category. The sign language project is an open source language database that can be used in any language and dialect to empower the deaf and assist them in the development of sign language.

Qatar was also awarded the first place in the Trade category, and the inventor Khalid Al Kubaisi won the second gold medal for his project “qchain”.
