Doha, March 01 (QNA) – As part of preparations to host the World Judo Championships (Doha 2023), Qatar is set to host the Arab Judo Championships for Men and Women on Friday and Saturday.

The tournament will be held in the world-class Ali bin Hamad Al Attiyah Arena, which will be the venue for the World Judo Championship slated for May 7 to 14.

About 300 players from Qatar, Egypt, UAE, Jordan, Djibouti, Bahrain, Morocco, Algeria, Iraq, Tunisia, Kuwait, Syria and Lebanon are expected to participate in the Arab Championship, which will give participants the opportunity to test their readiness for the World Judo Championships (Doha 2023).

Qatar Taekwondo Judo and Karate Federation has announced the names of the six players in the Qatari Team participating in the Arab Judo Championships for Men and Women, they are Mohamed Rabahi (81kg), Khalil Rabahi (81kg), Reda Nafawi (100kg), Salha Al Badi (57kg), Fatina Buqahous (52kg) and Khuloud Al Kuwari (78kg).

Head of the Committee on Marketing, Communication and Opening and Closing ceremonies of the World Judo Championships “Doha 2023” Abdulhadi Al Marri, said: “The Arab Championship, which will be held this weekend, will be an ideal opportunity to test the Arab champions’ readiness for the global event.. representatives of the International Judo Federation will attend the Arab Championship. and we are confident that it will be a success”.
