Qatar receives a new warship made in Turkey

Istanbul The Qatari Ministry of Defense announced the receipt of a new warship made in Turkey.

The Turkish RT channel, quoting the Qatari Ministry of Defense, reported that the Commander of the Qatari Naval Forces, Major General Abdullah bin Hassan Al-Sulaiti, accompanied by the Commander of the Turkish Naval Forces, Admiral Adnan Ozbal, inaugurated the Qatari warship “Al-Abrar Fuwairit” of the type “LCT80” in one of the Turkish ports in Istanbul.

Last October, Doha had received from Turkey another warship designated to train the Qatari naval forces.

In March 2018, Qatar signed three agreements with Anadolu Shipbuilding Company to supply 4 training ships for the candidate officers who will study at the Qatar Naval College.

The Turkish-Qatari relations are witnessing a growing development and continuous cooperation at various levels, with great political harmony and agreement in views on many regional and international issues, especially the Middle East issues. Relations were strengthened at the military level, in June of 2017, after the cooperation agreement was entered into the military operation came into force after the Turkish Parliament ratified it and approved it by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, whereby a Turkish military base was established in Qatar and joint exercises were carried out under the agreement.
