Qatar Keen on Supporting Arab Sustainable Developments Efforts – Minister

Cairo, October 04 (QNA) – HE Minister of Environment Abdullah bin Mubarak bin Iabboud Al Moudadi has underlined Qatar’s keenness on supporting joint Arab work and development efforts in all fields, especially in the field of environment and sustainable development.
“From this point comes the great interest in Doha’s preparations to host the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) to be held on November 26, and to work on developing a unified Arab vision during it,” HE the minister told QNA Thursday on the sidelines of the 48th session of the executive board of the Council of Arab Ministers Responsible for the Environment (CAMRE), currently underway in Cairo.
 The meeting discussed a number of important topics on the agenda such as sustainable development, the Rio outputs, the results of the meetings of the Arab follow-up team on previous ministerial decisions in the field of environment and issues related to Rio +20.
HE said that the ministers also reviewed Qatar’s preparations for hosting the UNFCCC, pointing to Kyoto Protocol, which was extended from 2012 to 2015 and is expected to be extended again until 2020. (QNA)
