Qatar Highly Appreciates HH the Emir of Kuwait’s Speech on Gulf Crisis

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs underlined that the State of Qatar highly appreciates what HH Emir of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah said in his speech at the opening of the session of the Kuwaiti National Assembly regarding the Gulf crisis.

In a statement, the Foreign Ministry hailed the appeal made by HH the Emir of Kuwait to preserve the rights of future generations by the current generation of Gulf leaders, saying that their rights require not to escalate the situation and hasten to heal the wounds caused by the crisis between countries that are linked by close bonds of brotherhood and unity of faith, destiny and common interests.

Throughout its history, the State of Qatar has pursued all means of reconciliation and adopted civilized and peaceful approaches to resolve conflicts, as established by its active diplomacy for decades, thereby, the State of Qatar announces its response to the appeal of HH the Emir of Kuwait.

The statement underlined that Qatar has a strong belief in the fairness of its position in this crisis and its adherence to dialogue based on mutual respect, on the basis of its principles and values.

These principles are not new and are not reflections of the current circumstances. The State of Qatar has been always pursuit of unity in the Gulf, the achievement of the common Gulf goal and the fulfillment of all commitments to preserve the GCC, the statement added.

Despite the systematic media campaign that is involving its symbols, government and people, and the unfair and illegal measures it has been subjected to during the past months, the State of Qatar, proudly of the civilized and moral position of the Qatari people, in response to the call of HH the Emir of Kuwait and in line with the approach laid down by HH the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani in his address to the people of Qatar on 21 July 2017, calls upon citizens, residents and all media in Qatar to avoid slipping into the abuse of Gulf symbols or drifting behind what is promoted from the siege countries of outdated tribal rifts.

Concluding, the statement underlined that the State of Qatar, which is committed to the rules of security, solidarity and friendship among the GCC, does not accept the violation of these rules, while the Government of Qatar and its people maintain their right to legitimate defense on their just cause with all objectivity and professionalism in all forums and platforms.
