QATAR HANDS OVER UNIVERSAL POSTAL UNION PRESIDENCY TO TURKEY

DOHA, – Qatar is participating in the 26th Universal Postal Union (UPU) Congress, hosted by the Turkish city of Istanbul.

Chairman of Qatar Postal Services Company (Q-Post), Faleh Mohammed Al Nuaimi, who headed Qatar’s delegation, handed over, on behalf of the State of Qatar, which hosted the Doha Congress 2012, the presidency to, PTT Corporation’s CEO, Kenan Bozgeyik, who represents Turkey, having been elected by members as president.

In 2016, at the 26th Universal Postal Congress, the member countries are expected to adopt the new world postal strategy or road map, for the new work cycle, commencing in 2017.

Rules governing the exchange of international mail will also be discussed in detail.
