Qatar emir, PM plan to visit Bangladesh

The Qatari emir and the prime minister are keen to visit Bangladesh.

The Bangladesh embassy in Doha said Qatar Prime Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Thani asked his officials to organise his visit.

The prime minister also said the emir was also looking for “a suitable date” for a visit as he had been invited by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

The Qatari prime minister conveyed this to Bangladeshi Ambassador Ashud Rahman when the latter called on him on Monday at the Emiri Dewan.

Both sides discussed bilateral issues with particular focus on the increasing inflow of Bangladeshi workers, prospect for more trade and investments and exchange of visits at both political and private sector level for mutual understanding and cooperation.

The ambassador underscored the need for more frequent visits between the two countries.

He also conveyed the greetings of the prime minister.
