Qatar does not interfere in Lebanon internal affairs: Ambassador

Qatar does not touch on the Lebanese legislative elections and it does not interfere in the Lebanese internal affairs, Qatari Ambassador to Lebanon, Ali bin Hamad al-Marri, maintained in a dialogue with the Diplomatic Academy graduates on Monday.

“Qatar stands at an equal distance from all the Lebanese political parties; they make their own decisions and we support them,” he said.

“The legislative elections are an internal affair and Qatar dissociates itself from them,” he underlined.

Moreover, the diplomat indicated that his country supports Lebanon on all levels.

“The state of Qatar offered USD 500 million to Lebanon during CEDRE conference, to help the Lebanese government resolve its problems, develop infrastructures, anchor security and safety, and conduct reconstruction works,” he said.

“We hope that the rest of the Arab states will follow suit,” he concluded.
