QATAR DEVELOPMENT FUND DONATES US$90 MILLION TO SWAZILAND

MBABANE, Swaziland, Mar 2 – The Qatar Development Fund (QDF), Tuesday, signed a US$90 million grant agreement, with the Swaziland Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Trade.

The signing ceremony was attended by the Swaziland Minister of Commerce, Industry and Trade, Gideon Dlamini, and a representative of Swazi Traders-Link Project, Fareed Engeri.

In his speech, Qatar’s Ambassador in Mbabane, Yousef Mohammed Al Mahmoud, said that, Qatar’s support for the Swazi Traders-Link Project, constituted a core for collaboration and partnership, to open markets for small- and medium-sized enterprises in Swaziland.

He hoped the project will help to reduce poverty and unemployment rates in the country.

The Swaziland Minister of Commerce, Industry and Trade thanked Qatar’s leadership, government and people, adding that, the project will have a deep impact in supporting small and medium enterprises in Swaziland
