Qatar Charity-sponsored students among Mogadishu University’s toppers

Mogadishu University announced that many students sponsored by Qatar Charity (QC) in Somalia always achieve first positions in the various colleges of the university.

This came during a ceremony celebrating the graduation of the 21st batch of the university’s students sponsored by Qatar Charity. Some 209 sponsored students, both male and female, graduated from the university’s different undergraduate programs in the academic year 2020-2021.

“We are honored to celebrate the graduation of the students sponsored by Qatar Charity,” spoke the President of Mogadishu University at the graduation ceremony, indicating that the Qatari people have stood by the Somali people in times of adversity.

He added that the students sponsored by Qatar Charity always obtain first ranks in the various colleges, expressing his appreciation and gratitude to the donors and Qatar Charity for helping students who cannot afford to study at the university.

The graduation celebration was attended by many ministers, the representatives of the House of the People, the president of the university, the chairman of the board of regents of the university, the deans of the colleges, the presidents of private universities, the director of Qatar Charity’s Somalia office, and the parents of the graduates.

The graduates expressed their happiness on this pleasant occasion, thanking the benefactors of Qatar and Qatar Charity for supporting their study.

Delivering graduates’ speech, Mr. Abdel Nasser Ahmed, a graduate of international relations, said, Qatar Charity’s scholarship marks an impactful milestone in the life of the graduates, thanking the donors who help them achieve what they thought impossible.

Ms. Somaya Ali Ahmed Al, a graduate of economics and administrative sciences, said “One of my dreams came, thanks to the benefactors who considered me as one of their children, taking care of me and extending material and moral support to me”.

Mr. Hassan Abdul-Jabbar Ainab, a graduate of political science and public administration, expressed his delight on the occasion of his graduation. He noted that the efforts Qatar Charity made for him will change his life and that of his family for the better.

It is worth mentioning that Qatar Charity benefits from the graduates’ skills and capabilities in many ways. Four graduates of the last year joined Qatar Charity’s Somalia office as orphan supervisors.
