Qatar Charity launches ‘I am Conscious’ campaign for school students

Qatar Charity (QC), in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, launched the ‘I am Conscious’ drive that aims to raise awareness among primary and secondary school students on the protection against harassment.

The campaign, which kicked off in August and will continue until February 2023, includes workshops and awareness lectures, which are organized in schools in cooperation with specialized trainers.

The campaign has so far targeted 1,000 female students in many girls’ primary schools where three awareness workshops were held in an attractive educational style that suits their ages. The campaign is expected to hold its activities in several boys’ schools during the coming period.

The workshops dealt with several issues, including ways to prevent harassment and stay safe.

Zainab Khashan, an educational and family counsellor, said amid being open to various cultures, educational and community institutions are required to participate in promoting such a culture among our male and female students and clarify the risks and the types of exploitation for them.

Jawaher Al-Muraikhi, a social worker from Al-Khwarizmi Primary School for Girls, praised the social programs implemented by Qatar Charity as part of the extra-curricular activities, which aim to contribute to protecting the children. She thanked Qatar Charity for organizing the activities.

The parent of Fathia Muhammad Al-Abdullah, a fifth-grade student, expressed her admiration for the campaign, noting the need for such drives.
