Qatar Charity constructs healthcare facility in Pakistan

Qatar Charity (QC) has expanded a rural health center (RCH) in Jhang District of Pakistan’s Punjab province by building and equipping an additional health care facility in the center. This aims to facilitates and improves health services provided to the population of the district. The health facility is expected to benefit 200,000 in the targeted rural areas.

The healthcare facility came, given that the existing health center was not enough to fulfill the health needs of the local people of the area and surrounding areas.

The healthcare facility includes two doctor rooms, a dental clinic, a pharmacy, a laboratory, a labor room, a nursing area, an emergency area, a waiting area, an X-Rays room, in addition to a section for mother and child healthcare. The facility was provided with furniture and essential medical equipment.

A multi-storey health facility building was handed over to the District Government Health Authority to make it functional for the people in the district.

“We are grateful to Qatar Charity for their continuous support in Jhang,” said Dr. Muhammad Asim, Deputy District Health Officer, appreciating its contribution in the district’s health sector. He added that this health facility will contribute to facilitating and providing health services to the population of the district. He noted that the old building of the health center was not able to provide proper medical assistance for the extremely vulnerable community of the area.

“Qatar Charity’s presence and this health facility in our area are blessing for us,” said Mr. Qazi Hasnain, a local teacher and community activist, indicating that majority of the people are poor in this area, and they cannot afford their treatments at private clinics. He also thanked the benefactors in Qatar not only for this health facility but also for all the efforts they make to uplift the remote area of Jhang’’.

It is worth mentioning that in 2016, Qatar Charity constructed a maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH) unit in the rural health center (RHC) of Rajanpur District, benefiting approximately 150,000 individuals.
