Prime Minister and Interior Minister HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani attended yesterday the first annual ceremony of the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MoTC) for Qatar Digital Government Training Programme (QDGTP) and the graduation of the first class of those who completed the Access to Jobs Program by Qatar Assistive Technology Centre – Mada that is aimed at enabling all persons with disability in Qatar to reach their full potential through information and communication technology.

The program also aims to enhance the technological and professional capabilities and skills of staff, prepare personnel of high-caliber technological cadres and provide them to government agencies to ensure the implementation of digital transformation plans in the country and the strategic goals of Qatar Digital Government 2020.

Speaking at the event, Assistant Undersecretary for Digital Community Development Affairs at MoTC, Reem Mohammed Al Mansouri, said that Qatar E-Government Training Programme has made important achievements in the field of training the IT personnel.

She explained that 1,150 staff members received the training in 2017 and obtained 199 internationally recognized certificates in the field of information technology, bringing the overall achievements, since beginning of the program in 2016, to over 3,000 trainees and 266 international certificates, through 178 training courses.
