Doha, – Sidra Medical and Research Center announced that its outpatient clinics received over 14,000 patients in one year.

Sidra celebrated Monday the one year anniversary of the opening of the Sidra Outpatient Clinic in presence of 1000 employees. An award ceremony was held for employees with over 10 years of service as well as for those who have been recognized for special achievements.

Commenting on the event, Sidra Chief Executive Officer Peter Morris said that Sidra have launched 46 clinics and services, and has recently developed and commissioned three advanced technology genomic research laboratories.

He noted that the center is very focused on maintaining and continuously improving the experience of care it offers to women, children and families in Qatar.

Morris said that over 1,500 talented doctors, nurses, healthcare professionals, medical administration and support service staff are currently working in Sidra, adding that the center will be welcoming more than 2,000 new recruits over the coming months, with committed to attracting and developing healthcare staff and leaders within the State of Qatar.

Sidra Medical and Research Center is an ultramodern, all-digital academic medical center which will set new standards in patient care for women and children in Qatar, the Gulf region and internationally.

The high-tech facility will not only provide world-class patient care but will also help build Qatar’s scientific expertise and resources. It features a main hospital building and a separate outpatient clinic. The main hospital will initially have 400 beds with infrastructure to enable expansion to 550 beds in a subsequent phase.

Sidra opened its Outpatient Clinic on 1 May 2016 with the launch of three clinics � Dermatology, Pediatric General Surgery Consultation and Obstetrics. These clinics are supported by radiology, pathology, pharmacy and laboratory facilities. The Sidra Outpatient Clinic offers outpatient services for women and children through a referral based system in partnership with other healthcare providers in Qatar. (QNA)
