OIC CONDEMNS VIOLENCE IN CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC

Jeddah – The Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned the acts of violence that took place in the town of Bangassou in Central Africa by the anti-Balaka militias on May 12 and 13, which left dozens of Muslims and UN peacekeepers killed and hundreds of unarmed civilians displaced.

In a statement today, OIC Secretary-General Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al Othaimeen, confirmed the Organization’s solidarity with the Central African Republic as well as willingness to provide full support for the peace and reconciliation between different ethnicities and the restoration of security and stability in the country.
