OIC Calls for Emergency Meeting on Aleppo

Jeddah, The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) today called, at the request of Kuwait, for an emergency meeting at the level of Foreign Ministers on Thursday December 22 to address the situation in Syria, in light of the tragic condition in the city of Aleppo.

OIC said in a statement that the conditions of the Syrian people, particularly in Aleppo is a stain of shame on the conscience of the international community and the Security Council in particular, explaining that that Aleppo has seen unspeakable cruel massacres and violations of international humanitarian law.

The organization called for the formation of an independent Investigation Committee in light of reports on field executions and random bombing of civilians and medical facilities, in addition to the starvation and siege policy adopted by the Syrian regime.
