The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and Arab countries have expressed their strong condemnation and denunciation after irregular armed forces stormed and vandalized the building of the Embassy of the State of Qatar in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum.
The OIC General Secretariat strongly condemned the storming and vandalizing of Qatar’s Embassy building in the Sudanese capital.
In a statement, the General Secretariat condemned the repeated targeting of diplomatic buildings, stressing the need to respect the sanctity of diplomatic buildings, provide the necessary protection for them and for diplomats, and adhere to international agreements, especially the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.
The Jordanian Foreign Ministry also condemned the attack on the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Khartoum.
In a statement today, it expressed Jordan’s solidarity with the State of Qatar and its strong condemnation and denunciation of all forms of violence and vandalism, especially those that target and violate diplomatic buildings.
The Jordanian Foreign Ministry stressed the need to respect the rules of international law and relevant international agreements, especially the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.
For its part, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) strongly condemned the storming and vandalism of the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Khartoum, stressing the importance of protecting diplomatic buildings according to the customs and charters that govern and regulate diplomatic work.
In a statement today, the UAE Foreign Ministry affirmed that the UAE expresses its strong condemnation of these criminal acts that aim to destabilize security and stability in contravention of moral and human values and principle.
The Ministry underscored the importance of intensifying efforts aimed at a ceasefire, a return to the political framework and dialogue, and advancing in the transitional phase to reach the desired political stability and security in Sudan.
The Yemeni Foreign Ministry also expressed its condemnation of the storming and vandalizing of the headquarters of the Qatari embassy in Khartoum by irregular armed forces.
In a statement, the Ministry affirmed the Republic of Yemen’s solidarity with the State of Qatar and its rejection of all acts of violence and sabotage including the violation of the sanctity of diplomatic missions, noting that this constitutes a violation of international laws and covenants, especially the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.
