Official: Kuwait geared up for Gulf championship in Doha

DOHA, March 2 (KUNA — Kuwait stands well-prepared to compete during the Gulf golf championship which kicked off in the Qatari capital, Doha, on Tuesday, a Kuwaiti sports official said on Wednesday.
The Kuwaiti golf team has made proper preparations and arrangements for the 20th 2016 Gulf Golf Championship through the provision of efficient training to the players, Head of the Kuwait Olympic Committee’ Golf Committee Mazen Al-Ansari said to KUNA.
He stressed the significance of involvement in the event in order to contribute to the dissemination of Golf sport in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states.
The Kuwaiti Golf Committee is keen to partake in regional and international golf championships throughout the year, he added.
He pointed to his committee’s efforts to promote golf in Kuwait by means of encouraging youth and schoolchildren to practice this sport.
Thirty-eight golf players are participating in the 20th 2016 Gulf Golf Championship which kick-started in Doha on Tuesday and lasts for five days. (end) nnd.mt
