Municipality and Environment Minister Opens Al Wakrah Celebration Halls Complex

Doha, HE Minister of Municipality and Environment on Wednesday opened Al Wakrah celebration halls complex, which was established under the supervision of the Private Engineering Office.

Speaking on that occasion, HE the minister praised the efforts of the Private Engineering Office for the construction of the third complex after the ones in Al Daayen and Al Rifaa, which boast high standards and great facilities, calling on Qatari youth to use them to lower marriage costs.

He said that the large celebrations hall in Al Wakrah has a nice architecture and provides all the requirements of weddings according to the best global standards, adding that it will serve the residents of Al Wakrah and the neighboring areas.

In turn, Eng. Faisal Abdullah Al Dossari, head of the projects department at the Private Engineering Office, said the complex extends over an area of 90,000 sqm and has five main hall, each of them has a capacity of 500 persons and can all operate together as one hall hosting 2,500 persons.

Al Dossari said the halls are open for free for community residents, with small sums collected as insurance and refunded after using the hall.

Al Wakrah Municpality Director Mansour Ajran Al Buainain said the project draws inspiration from Islamic architecture, noting that Al Wakrah Municipality is committed to supporting such ventures with all possible ways and in cooperation with state institutions.
