MoTC, GAC Ink MoU to Develop Customs Services

The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MoTC) and the General Authority of Customs (GAC) have signed a memorandum of understating (MoU) to further develop customs clearance services in Qatar.

The MoU was signed by Ahmed bin Abdullah al-Jamal, Chairman of GAC, and Hassan Jassim al-Sayed, Assistant Undersecretary of the Government Information Technology Sector at MoTC.

Under the MoU, the two parties will collaborate to execute the second phase of the customs clearance single-window system, Al-Nadeeb, and support the deployment and implementation of its first phase, according to a statement from the ministry.

The agreement reflects the two parties’ continuing cooperation in developing customs services in accordance with the directives of the country’s leadership, heading towards modern electronic services as outlined in the strategic goals of the Qatar Digital Government 2020 Strategy, the statement notes.
